Little Hands, Big Hearts.

At TEDx Grandview Heights Youth 2024, 11-year-old Cecilia Song stood on stage to share how creativity can become a powerful force for good. As the founder of Crafty Co., she spoke from the heart about how a simple idea—making crafts with friends—grew into a series of youth-led fundraisers supporting causes like Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and Ocean Wise’s Killer Whale Adoption Program.

“How Creativity Can Be Empowering and Impactful”.

At the same event, Cecilia and her Crafty Co. teammates also hosted a pop-up booth filled with handmade soaps, bracelets, hair clips, and keychains. For some of them, it was their first TEDx experience—and a proud moment to represent creativity, kindness, and community impact.

The booth wasn’t just about sales—it was about learning how art and action can come together to make a difference. Their first donation of $527 was a meaningful milestone, showing how even small hands can spark real change.

“We were just a group of kids making crafts, but then we realized we could help others too. That’s when creativity became something bigger.”
